Chapter 04

We sound like the operator who's done it before

Calm, specific, and confident enough to name competitors. We say the number, show the product, and skip the adjectives. If a sentence could appear on any SaaS website, it doesn't belong on ours.

Canonical lines

Say these exactly

"The no-code platform your whole business runs on."

The tagline. It appears under the logo, on end cards, and in footers — verbatim.

The elevator pitch: "BackOffice is a no-code ERP builder that replaces Salesforce + Zendesk + Asana + Airtable + Forms with one workspace your team actually uses. Start free, $29/user/mo when you're ready."
AudienceThe pitch, tuned
Founders"Build the back-office of your business in an afternoon — CRM, helpdesk, ops, finance — without code, without 5 SaaS bills."
Ops leaders"One workspace for every internal tool your team needs. No glue, no integrations, no per-tool subscriptions."
Developers"Tailwind for back-office software. Build entities, views, AI workflows in minutes; drop into a typed API or webhooks when you need to."
Investors"Horizontal no-code ERP with AI-native authoring. We replace the bottom-five SaaS bills of every SMB on earth."
Tone

Four principles

Confident, not arrogant

"We replace Salesforce" — never "the Salesforce killer". State the fact; skip the swagger.

Specific over abstract

"Build a CRM in 5 minutes" — never "empower your team". If you can't picture it, don't write it.

Comparison-friendly

Name competitors by name, with their real prices. Confidence reads as truth; vagueness reads as fear.

Numbers in headlines

"$29/user/mo" beats "affordable pricing". "Replaces 5 SaaS tools" beats "all-in-one solution".

Banned words: synergy · seamless · unified · intelligent · empower · revolutionize · supercharge · game-changing. Replace each with the concrete thing it's hiding. ("Platform" is allowed only when literally describing the product category — never as decoration.)
In practice

Write this, not that

On brand
"Your stack costs $125/user. BackOffice is $29."Leads with the anchor — the price reads as obviously underpriced.
"Build a working CRM in 3 minutes, from a sentence."Specific action, specific time, no adjectives.
"Airtable is a spreadsheet that learned views. We're operations software."Names the competitor, draws the line, stays respectful.
"Every entity exports to CSV from the toolbar."Answers the lock-in fear with a fact, not a promise.
Off brand
"A seamless, unified platform to empower your team."Three banned words, zero information.
"The revolutionary AI-powered future of work."Hype with no product in it. Show the AI doing something instead.
"Better than Airtable!!!"Claims without numbers; punctuation doing the arguing.
"Affordable pricing for teams of all sizes."Say the number: Free / $29 / $49.
Naming

Spelling it right

TermRule
BackOfficeOne word, capital B and capital O. Never "Backoffice", "Back Office", "backoffice", or "BO" in public copy.
Product namesTitle case, used as proper nouns: Video Studio, Omni Marketing, Team Chat, Omnichannel Inbox. "The" is lowercase: "the Video Studio app".
PlansFree, Team, Business, Enterprise — capitalized, no quotes. Prices always per user per month: "$29/user/mo".
Domainsbackoffice.llc is the site; app.bo.ge is the product. Set domains in JetBrains Mono in designed materials.
Category"No-code ERP" (hyphenated). Not "nocode", not "low-code", not "work OS".
Boilerplate

Medium · ~50 words
BackOffice is a no-code ERP builder that lets any operator build the software their company runs on — CRM, helpdesk, projects, inventory, finance — in minutes. Long · ~100 words
BackOffice is a no-code ERP builder for teams that are done paying five SaaS bills for one business. Operators build custom workspaces — CRM, helpdesk, project tracking, inventory, finance ops, HR — in minutes, using templates or by describing the business in plain English and letting the AI design entities, fields, views, and dashboards. Under the hood it's real operations software: roles and granular permissions, audit log, public forms, typed API, webhooks, and per-tenant database isolation. A built-in MCP server connects Claude or ChatGPT straight to the workspace. Free for 3 users; Team is $29/user/mo with no minimum.
